Dance Explosion was founded in 2001 to fill a need in the North Charleston area.  It was our hope to bring Professional instruction in the art of dance to this area.  We offer a studio built around the betterment of each and every student.  Not just the good dancers or "team students" but Every dancer.  Each dancer is different in what they want to achieve through this art.  Some want to take dance for fun and enjoy 1 class a week and some want to go all the way.  Whether this means only while attending school or preparing for a career in the dance field.  We at Dance Explosion are prepared for all of these students.

We hire the most professional staff we can find to work with our students and they are held to the strictest guidelines.  Our instructors are professional, competent dancers as well as instructors and relay their passion for dance to our students.

We offer a wide variety of disciplines for a dancer to explore.  Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, and Hip Hop in the various levels to accommodate all of our students.  We strive to use age appropriate and clean music.  Our costuming is planned around the student's class as a whole to make sure no one feels uncomfortagle at performances.

For the more committed dancer, we have established a National Top Award winning performing and competition team.  This allows these students to participate in local performances as well as traveling to competitions and conventions during the year.  Giving them more opportunities to perform and train.  Our training program has created the best youth dancers in the area.

We have had 2 students receive full scholarships to colleges as well as several students receiving $5000.-$10000. per year that did not have to major in dance.  We have had several students accepted to The Governors School for the Arts and Humanities.  And many other summer intensives.   Many of our students also attend the arts schools in the area.

We also offer an Afterschool Dance Arts Program.  Although it is small, the students participating are progressing very well in their dance training.  After school students receive 4 dance classes per week.  We also have snack time, play time, homework time allotted during the week.

Our summer session offers a full day dance intensive beginning at 9am and ending at 5 pm.  We offer classes in Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Students 5+ will be able to take advantage of a full day program as well as individual  classes in the evening.
